„Can you give me one big cat? The saleswoman says ‘Sure’ and brings the tiger. Was she wrong? Well, no, she wasn’t because the tiger belongs to the big cat family indeed. You just weren’t precise. The same happens in AI usage“, said Tobias Zwingmann, Co-founder of Rapyd.ai, during his compelling talk titled “How to Fail with AI – and How to Succeed” powered by Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung.
This thought-provoking session provided valuable insights into the common mistakes organizations make when implementing AI technologies, while also shedding light on the keys to success in the rapidly evolving field.
Zwingmann, a recognized figure in the AI space, addressed the growing pains many businesses face as they navigate the complexities of integrating AI solutions into their operations. He emphasized that failure is a common step in the process of innovation but also stressed the importance of learning from those failures to develop successful strategies for long-term AI implementation. „Stick to the 20/20 rule. AI tool testing phase should last less than 20 days and cost less than 20k. Look for easy prototypes.“
With a focus on practical applications, Zwingmann highlighted both the technical and organizational challenges associated with AI adoption, from data quality issues to misaligned business goals. He offered a roadmap to overcoming these obstacles, underscoring the importance of clear objectives, strong leadership, and continuous learning.
„Focus on real problems your business have, not the speculative ones. Your domain knowledge is your most critical asset. Also, map tasks – data, RFP documents, predictions based on data… AI is just a tool, so keep humans in the lead, not in the loop. AI projects don’t work by default, we have to make them work“, cocluded Zwingmann.
